Mikal Thomsen

Partner, Trilogy Equity Partners

Mikal is a partner and co-founder of Trilogy Equity Partners, a Seattle-based investment firm founded in 2005. From May 1999 to July 2005, when it was sold to Alltel Corporation, Mikal served as President of Western Wireless Corporation, where he also served as a director from October 2000 to the closing of its acquisition. Mikal served as Chief Operating Officer of Western Wireless and one of its predecessors from 1991 to May 2002, and in this capacity was responsible for all domestic cellular operations since August 1998. He was also a Managing Director of one of Western Wireless' predecessors from 1991 until Western Wireless was formed in 1994. From 1983 to 1991, Mikal held various positions at McCaw Cellular Communications, serving as General Manager of its International Division from 1990 to 1991 and as General Manager of its West Florida Region from 1987 to 1990. Mikal is also a director of Winebid.com, iPCS,Inc., and Sparkplug Corporation. Mikal also serves as a member of the Washington State University Foundation Board of Governors and as a director of the Tacoma Museum of Glass.


Winnie Zeng

Principal, Best Buy Capital

Winnie joined Best Buy, the leading global retailer of consumer technology products and services, in 2005. As the Principal of Best Buy Capital, the venture investment team of Best Buy, Winnie is responsible for leading investment activities to create a portfolio of opportunities for Best Buy's growth, while encouraging the adoption of new technologies, solutions and services for the consumer technology ecosystem.  Winnie was previously with Best Buy's corporate development team, providing strategic support to various business units and managing acquisitions and investments. Prior to Best Buy, Winnie worked as a Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen in their China offices.

Winnie earned a B.A. in Economics from Sun Yat-sen University in China and an MBA from Indiana University.


Geoff Entress

Venture Partner, Voyager Capital

Geoff serves as a Venture Partner with Voyager Capital and focuses broadly on information technology investments in the Pacific Northwest. Geoff is also an active angel investor in the region, and has invested in over 35 Pacific Northwest technology companies during the last decade. Several of those companies have had successful exits, notably Isilon Systems (NASDAQ GM: ISLN), World Wide Packets (acquired by Ciena), The Coffee Equipment Company (acquired by Starbucks) and Shelfari (acquired by Amazon). A former venture partner with Madrona Venture Group, a Seattle-based venture capital firm, Geoff is a current investor in over 25 private companies and is a current board member of five companies, including drugstore.com (NASDAQ GM: DSCM), Judy's Book, Sandlot Games, LiquidPlanner and Dashwire, and is a board observer for several others. Geoff is also a long-time member of the Executive and Screening committees of the Alliance of Angels, the largest angel investor organization in the Pacific Northwest, a member of the Advisory Board for the University of Washington Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and a member of the Advisory Board for the Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

A former securities lawyer and financial analyst, Geoff has also held positions at Perkins Coie, Jones Day, UrbanEarth.com, Salomon Brothers, The Prudential Home Mortgage Company, Mellon Bank, Priority Investment Management and Duquesne Capital Management. Geoff is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Notre Dame.


Serena Glover

Serena is an independent consultant, investor, and board advisor to start-up web service and mobile technology companies. In 2004 she co-founded Twango, an innovative media sharing web site and technology platform. She negotiated Twango's acquisition by Nokia in 2007. As Director of Communities at Nokia, Serena ran a global organization leading the effort to bring media-related web services to mobile devices.

Prior to Twango, Serena spent 9 years at Microsoft in various management positions, where she led product teams, managed websites and helped complete several corporate acquisitions. During the 1980's, Serena was part of a research team at the University of Michigan that built some of the very first database and graphical design tools. At Meta Systems, the startup spun off from those research efforts, she set up sales and technical training for Europe and the Middle East. Serena received a B.S. in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Michigan.


Ford Davidson

Director, CEO

For nearly a decade, Ford has been part of some of the most innovative mobile product categories in the wireless industry. Prior to founding Dashwire, Ford was a Product Manager in the Mobile Devices group at Microsoft. At Microsoft, he worked with leading mobile operators and device manufacturers that included HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Palm, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon to help develop the “smartphone” category. Ford was responsible for the global marketing launch of Windows Mobile 5.0, and contributed to helping grow the Microsoft mobile business at the time to the number 2 position in the market. Ford got his start in wireless at Monet Mobile Networks, a start up company that deployed the first CDMA 1xEVDO broadband wireless network in the United States. Ford has worked on products that have won industry awards, including Best of CTIA and a number of Editor's Choice awards. He holds a BA from Harvard.
