There ARE people, individuals, numan beings, that will go to any lengths in order to produce pain in other human beings and keep producing it. They will, in so douing, prove that they cannot stop with this behavior as free agents, until a) the victim dies - and, not so speculatevily, continue with other victims after death of that one has occurred - or b) they are removed from their positions / equipment, in essence, the possibility given to them to torture, with physical and mental pain. ------------------- The production of physical pain will be an obstacle to human evolution; it will be produced by a selection of human beings if they are given circumstances in wich they can feel COMFORTABLE doing so. This selection will be considered as less a less desirable one00 to maintain in the human gene pool; it is uncertain how this is to be handled, but far reaching official as well as inofficial understanding of ethics will be needed, simply because of the abhorration in the face of the atrocities these few individuals are capable of - wheteher it will be genetic engineering / elimination of certain genes time will tell. I am not entirely happy with calling this a "disgusting" form of intelligence, because it is supposedly an adequate form of regressive / instinctual behavior, but this word is suitable to describe it instrumentally since it is such a completely natural reaction to pain propagation, to living, intelligent human beings WISHING excruciating pain to be experienced, on an ongoing basis - and ACTING accordingly. These individuals - as might be clear already from their behavior, as unveiled recently - cannot be persuaded by any forms of argumentation, be it how well meaning and intelligent as it may - they will simply not co-operate with the rest of the human race, and the sooner this is realized, the better.
